Our Story – From Grief to Gifts with Purpose

My name is Shannon. I started Nanny's Creations in my kitchen in 2021, shortly after my mother passed away from multiple health complications. She loved fragrance—candles, wax melts, room sprays, you name it. If it smelled good, she burned it or sprayed it. Making fragrance products became a way for my son, my niece Izzy, and me to cope with the loss. What started as grief work turned into a small craft show success. People kept asking for more. That's when I realized this could become something much bigger than a hobby.

Today, we handcraft home fragrance products as gel wax melts, soy-blend melts, and car reed diffusers. But we're not stopping there. We are actively expanding into room sprays, detergents, and bath & body products. And beyond fragrance? We're adding mugs, tumblers, t-shirts, bookmarks, and more as soon as we can. Our goal is simple: become a one-stop gift shop where you can find something thoughtful for anyone on your list—all made or selected with care. Every product we carry reflects our commitment to quality and purpose.

Here's what I actually want to build: a business large enough to employ people with disabilities. Not a small workshop where someone learns one craft and stops. Real jobs. Paychecks. Skills that transfer to other roles. I want to hire people who struggle to keep or even get a job because of their disabilities—and not let those disabilities stand in the way of them providing for themselves. Independence. Purpose. A way to work and grow. That's the goal. Every product you buy—whether a wax melt, a t-shirt, or a mug—moves us one step closer to that reality.
